PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving the secondary working brittleness resistance after deep drawing of a high purity ferritic stainless steel sheet without deteriorating its excellent ductility and deep drawability. SOLUTION: This steel sheet has a composition which contains, by weight, <=0.010% C, <=0.5% Si, <=1.0% Mn, <=0.04% P, <=0.01% S, 9 to 25% Cr, and <=0.6% Ti+Nb, 0.002 to 0.05% Al, <=0.0020% Ca, <=0.0050% Mg and <=0.01% N, moreover contains, at need, <=3% Mo, <=1% Cu, <=1% Ni and <=0.0030% B and the balance substantially Fe, and in which the value of (Ti+Nb)/(C+N) satisfies >=7.0% and the range of Mg(%) satisfies >=0.05%×P(%).
