PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antimicrobial treatment method for mattress capable of generating a long-time antimicrobial property in the mattress and holding an aseptic condition and an apparatus therefor. SOLUTION: This antimicrobial treatment method for the mattress M consists in spraying an alcohol solution compounded with an antimicrobial agent over the entire surface of the mattress to impregnate the front layer of the mattress with the solution, then subjecting the mattress to a hot air heating and sterilizing treatment, again spraying the aqueous solution compounded with the antimicrobial agent over the entire surface of the mattress to impregnate the front layer of the mattress with the solution, then subjecting the mattress to the hot air heating and sterilizing treatment. This antimicrobial treatment apparatus is constituted to enclose the mattress M transported by a transporting mans with spray pipings 13 arranged with a plurality of spray nozzles 13, to enable the spraying of the solution compounded with the antimicrobial agent, to make spray pipings 13 freely advanceable and retreatable in compliance with the size of the mattress M in order to maintain the spacing from the spray nozzles to the mattress M always at respective values and to feed the solution pressurized to a uniform pressure to each piece of the spray piping 13. |
