PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microporous film having a good microporous structure and particularly excellent in mechanical strength. SOLUTION: The matrix resin is composed of a copolymer of tetrafluoroethylene and a fluorinated vinyl ether represented by the formula: CF2=CFOCH2Rf (wherein Rf is a halogenated hydrocarbon group), for example, 2,2,3,3,3-pentafluoropropyl trifluorovinyl ether, and has a microporous structure composed of communicating pores having an average pore diameter of 0.01-0.2μm, the structure having voids of 40-90%.
