PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper diaper easily fitted irrespective of the sexual distinction and the posture of the wearing person. SOLUTION: This diaper covering the trunk of a wearing person comprises a diaper body 110 and a water absorbing material 115 arranged at the center of the diaper body 110. It also comprises a string-shaped fitting means 130 to tentatively fix around the trunk of the wearing person and an engaging means 133 to fit the planar diaper body 110 to cover the wearing person. The water absorbent 115 is either arranged within two thirds to the lengthwise direction of the diaper body 110, or has a movable construction. The fitting means 130 for tentative fixing is arranged on the face of the diaper body 110 contacting the wearing person.
