PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a piercing device by which a desired piercing pattern can be easily formed to a work. SOLUTION: In a piercing device 1, when lowering a holder 4, a work W mounted on a mounting rest 3 is punched by many punches 8 installed on a holder 4, and many pierced holes 19 are formed. At this time, for one part out of the punches 8, its upward movement is interrupted by the lower side part 12 of a backing plate 11, and the work W is punched by it. For other punches 8, since their heads 9 enter the inside of the through-holes 14 of the lower side part 12 when the punches 8 abutted the work W, the work W is not punched by them. As a result, many pierced holes 19 are formed on the work W in a desired arrangement state regardless of the arrangement state of the punches 8.
