PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a scroll compressor allowing a turning scroll to be pressed to a fixed scroll with uniform optimum force regardless of a high pressure or low pressure of a motor chamber in the case of the compressor with the high-low pressure selectable motor chamber. SOLUTION: In this scroll compressor, a back face of an end plate 5a of a turning scroll 5 is partitioned into a plurality of annular back pressure chambers, and each back pressure chamber is made either high or low in pressure. A plurality of back pressure chambers are partitioned into an outer back pressure chamber 15, a central back pressure chamber 16, an inner back pressure chamber 18 and a turning shaft back pressure chamber 17. The outer back pressure chamber 15 communicates with a refrigerant intake part 6a of a compression chamber, and the central back pressure chamber 16 communicates with a discharge chamber. The inner back pressure chamber 18 communicates with a motor chamber, and the turning shaft back pressure chamber 17 communicates with the refrigerant intake part 6a of the compression chamber.
