SOLUTION: A rotary cam 2 is opposite to the end face 5 of a valve lifter 4, and the center A of the width along the axis X of a top part 11 is biased to the axis Y of the valve lifter 4 by L. To the center B of the width of the rotary cam 2 abutting on the end face 5 farthest from the valve lifter axis Y in the direction orthogonal to the shaft center X, the width center A which makes the lift amount of the valve lifter maximum is offset by L. Accordingly, the turning moment M obtained by multiplying the frictional force H between the rotary cam 2 and the valve lifter 4 by the length L is applied to turn the valve lifter 4. Thus, the position of the valve lifter end face 5 where the rotary cam 2 slides is varied at any time to prevent polarized abrasion.
