PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent uneven abrasion of a valve lifter end face by enlarging the offset amount from the axis of the valve lifter to the center of width along a rotating axis in a region of a rotary cam with the maximum lift amount more than a region of the rotary cam that abuts on the end face of the valve lifter farthest from the axis of the valve lifter in the direction orthogonal to the rotating shaft. SOLUTION: A rotary cam 2 is opposite to the end face 5 of a valve lifter 4, and the center A of the width along the axis X of a top part 11 is biased to the axis Y of the valve lifter 4 by L. To the center B of the width of the rotary cam 2 abutting on the end face 5 farthest from the valve lifter axis Y in the direction orthogonal to the shaft center X, the width center A which makes the lift amount of the valve lifter maximum is offset by L. Accordingly, the turning moment M obtained by multiplying the frictional force H between the rotary cam 2 and the valve lifter 4 by the length L is applied to turn the valve lifter 4. Thus, the position of the valve lifter end face 5 where the rotary cam 2 slides is varied at any time to prevent polarized abrasion.
