PURPOSE: An apparatus is provided to allow a discharge door to be supported at a cabinet with stability by preventing the bottom end of the discharge door from being lifted upon opening of the discharge door. CONSTITUTION: A discharge door(59) installed at a front surface of a cabinet of an air conditioner to be vertically movable so as to open/shut-off an air outlet port, has a first groove(71) formed at a bottom surface of the discharge door. A front panel(61) of the air conditioner contacting the bottom surface of the discharge door when the discharge door is lowered, has a second groove(73) formed at a position corresponding to that of the first groove. The second groove has a life prevention member(80) to be inserted into the first groove so as to prevent the bottom end of the discharge door from being lifted up when the discharge door is lowered for opening the air outlet port. A space ensuring door(65) which moves forward and backward in accordance with the vertical movement of the discharge door so as to cover a step formed between the front panel and the discharge door, is arranged behind the discharge door. The space ensuring door has at a bottom surface thereof a third groove(75) formed at a position corresponding to that of the second groove.
