A micro fuel cell (6) with a corresponding fuel reservoir (5) is integrated into the sensors and/or actuators, which converts the stored fuel, preferably methanol, into electric energy for supplying to the sensors. The invention also relates to a sensor or an actuator, comprising an integrated micro fuel cell (6) with corresponding fuel reservoir (5), which converts the stored fuel into electric energy for supplying the sensors. The invention further relates to a system for a machine (2) which has a number of sensors and/or actuators, in particular, for an automated production machine, whereby the sensors and/or actuators (1.1 to 1.s) are equipped with a transmitter or a receiver or a transceiver (3) which communicates with a central transmitter or receiver or transceiver that is connected via radio signals to a process control computer (4) of the machine (2).
