A belt deflection fitting(20) is mounted on a part(24) of the vehicle to swivel around a pivot mounting(22). The deflection fitting is mounted so that it comes into contact with a component of the pivot mounting by at least one section of its surface, and with this forms a friction-locking connection preventing further additional swivel movements of the deflection fitting if forces(F1,F2) acting on the belt webbing(12) exceed a predetermined threshold value.
