AN IMPROVED OPEN-ANGLE SEAT FOR A CHAIR

This invention relates to open-angle seats for chairs. More particularly, a seat for a chair is provided wherein the seat provides independent support t o both a person's sit bones and thighs. The seat comprises a first support surface (64), with the first support surface being generally planar and adapted to support a person seated on the seat at the sit bones. A second support surface (72) is also provided, with the second support surface being generally planar and adapted to support the person seated on the seat at the thighs. The plane of the first support surface and the plane of the second support surface intersect sot that when the first support surface is general ly horizontal, the second support surface extends generally forwardly and downwardly with respect to the first support surface.
