APPARATUS FOR PREVENTING LEAKAGE OF MOLTEN STEEL FOR TWIN ROLL STRIP CASTING

PURPOSE: An apparatus for preventing leakage of molten steel for twin roll strip casting is provided which prevents molten steel from being leaked by measuring a temperature of the edge part of a strip and controlling a height of edge dams accordingly. CONSTITUTION: In a strip casting equipment in which a strip(50) is produced by connecting edge dams(40) to both sides of a pair of casting rolls(10) and rotating the casting rolls(10), the edge dams(40) store molten steel and are supported by cylinders(30), the apparatus for preventing leakage of molten steel for twin roll strip casting comprises a thermoscope(80) measuring a temperature of the edge part of the strip(50) adjacent to the bottom of the edge dams(40); a control part(90) converting the temperatures into data by receiving temperatures measured at the thermoscope(80); and an elevation control cylinder(70) which is installed at the upper part of the edge dams(40) so as to control an elevation of the edge dams(40) by signals of the control part(90).
