<p>The posterior chamber intraocular implant for aphake is made of a flexible material comprising a center part (10) and a haptic part (20) consisting of an annular posterior wall surrounding the optic part and a peripheral ring which can be accommodated in the equatorial part of the capsular bag. The capsular ring (23) is generally toroidal in shape and extends at least partially on the rhexis of the anterior capsule. The peripheral ring is at least equal to the equatorial diameter of the bag. The haptic part from the periphery of the optical element to the free end thereof is made of a thin film and the posterior wall has a plurality of openings (25) whose total circumferential range is 180-300°.</p> |
