<p>A mobile covering system is used to cover a landfill site, the cover denies access to the site for birds and prevents surface litter from blowing off the site. The system comprises a number of mobile support members, an array of cables [20, 22, 24] secured to the support members, to form a framework, and a cover attached to the framework. Each support member may be free standing, be able to be moved independently of the other support members, be self propelled and comprise an arm mounted on a motorised platform. The cover may be made from netting material and comprise roof netting [26] and side netting [28]. Water-filled flexible hose [30] may be attached to the lower edge regions of the side netting [28] to keep it in contact with the ground. Adjustable tensioning devices may be used to ensure tension is evenly distributed throughout the cable array [20, 22, 24].</p> |
