ceramic material in various fields of science and engineering. SUBSTANCE: described is method of preparing beta-sialone by carbothermally reducing mineral stock in nitrogen atmosphere. Method comprises using ash which is waste from thermal electric station, and reduction is carried out at 1450-1500 for 3-3.5 hours. Method makes it possible not only to utilize waste and prepare ceramic material which combines main high physico- chemical properties of oxides and oxygen-free compounds but also to prepare sialone by simple production method, and additional operations are thus avoided.
