<p>The invention relates to an airbag safety device for an automobile, comprising several airbags and gas generators connected thereto. Said gas generators are triggered by a control device which is coupled with sensors. The airbags are deployed according to the type of collision. The aim of the invention is to increase the safety of the passengers in the event of a multiple or follow-on collision. To this end, at least some of the airbags, especially the side airbags (14-17; 18, 19, 22, 23) are each connected to two gas generators (6-7, 8-9, 10-11, 12-13) or to a gas generator with propellant gas units (20, 21, 24, 25) which are activated independently of each other so that the connected airbags can be filled together or separately, independently of each other, depending on the particular collision situation.</p> |
