CVT/IVT component comprising a race way during operation in contact with the race way of a further component of the CVT/IVT. It is proposed to produce such a component from a steel consisting of 0.85-0.95 wt % C, up to 0.15 wt % Si, 1.30-1.50 wt % Cr, 0.25-0,45 wt % Mn, 0.20-0.40 wt % Mo and for the rest iron and unavoidable impurities. Preferably the surface of the component is further hardened by cabonitriding and quenching/reheating. |
