Cyanamide hydratase (cah) as a plant selection marker providing cyanamide tolerance

Cyanamide hydratase may be used as a selection marker in plant transformation. Plants transformed with the gene coding for cyanamide hydratase are able to convert the cyanamide into urea. As cyanamide acts as a herbicide, transformed plants may be selected by growing the plants in a medium comprising cyanamide.
