The heat exchanger (1) assembly has an oil cooler with flow channels (4,5) for the flows of two heat exchange media (6,7). The heat exchanger (1) has a fluid connection with the coolant air cooler (10), with two connections. The first heat exchange medium is a coolant and the other medium is the oil from the motor or gearbox at an internal combustion motor. Through the mounting of the heat exchanger (1) at the outside (11) of the coolant air cooler (10), and especially the coolant chamber (15), the capacity and dimensions of the heat exchanger can be selected within a wide range. The coolant chamber is in a flat shape, independently of the shape and size of the oil cooler (1).
