<p>An account for a client to access web services is created upon demand. The client submits payment to create the account. The amount of web services authorized for the account is directly dependent upon the magnitude of the payment. The client may use a number of different payment mechanisms to pay for the account. The account is debited, based upon usage, until the value of the account is below a predetermined threshold. The web services may be Internet services that are provided by an ISP. A preauthorization component may be provided for preauthorizing one time, variable cost access by a client to the web services. The client presents the preauthorization component with a payment mechanism. The preauthorization component authenticates that the payment mechanism is authentic and possesses sufficient payment capability to cover the expenses of the use of the web services by the client. The usage of the web services by the client is monitored and a charge is assessed to the payment mechanism of the client to cover the expenses of the usage of the web services by the client.</p> |
