The method involves checking if the telephone number of the dialled subscriber has an associated IP address for an internet telephone connection. If there is not IP address, the connection is established via a telephone network provider. If an IP address is present, a check is made to determine if the estimated charges for the internet telephone connection are less than the charges made by the telephone network provider. The call is then made via the cheaper service. An Independent claim is included for a method of establishing a speech connection between subscribers. |
