PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the installability and appearance of a composite exterior material by forming a male-female connecting structure at the width direction side edge of a metal exterior material and integrating a beautiful hard substrate to the decorated surface thereof. SOLUTION: A metal exterior material A and a metal wall material B made up of a core C and a reverse material D are formed by rolling molding or the like of a metal plate such as a color steel sheet. A vertically plane decorated surface 4, a male connection 5 having an engagement groove 7, a female connection 6 having an insertion edge 8 are formed on the long plate metal wall material B. A hard substrate E is formed of a ceramic panel, a molded product of a ceramic plate or a cement plate, a synthetic resin or the like. Subsequently, the hard substrate E is adhered to the metal exterior material A by a synthetic resin adhesive, a rubber adhesive, an oil adhesive or a fusion, whereby the hard substrate E integrates with the metal exterior material A and the mountability, the durability, the sound shielding and sound absorbing properties and the appearance of a composite exterior material P can be improved.
