摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject electrooptic liquid crystal display having an improved combination of a large dielectric anisotropy and high clearing point without effecting to voltage retention, etc., to obtain a comparatively low threshold voltage by including a specific reorientation layer and a specific liquid crystal media. SOLUTION: This electrooptic liquid crystal display includes a reorientating layer to reorientate a liquid crystal having essential constituting components for reorientating that has an electric field parallel to a liquid crystal layer, and one or more kind of liquid crystal medias having positive dielectric anisotropy including one or more kind of compounds selected from compounds of one or more kind of formulas I, II and III (R1-R3 are each a 1-7C alkyl, alkoxy, etc.; Y11, Y12, Y21, Y22, Y31 and Y32 are each H or F; ring A2 and A3 are each formula IV, etc.; Q-X is F, Cl, etc.). The abovementioned liquid crystal media preferably includes 3-35 wt.% of two or more kind of the compounds of formula I, 2-45% of one or more kind of the compounds of formula II and 0-25% of one or more kind of the compounds of formula III, etc.
