A perambulator having, a wheeled base frame (11), two crossed main struts (17, 18) pivotally connected together (19). The struts (17, 18) are pivotally connected to the frame (11) at one end (17a, 18a) by double articulated link arms (15, 16) and pivotally connected at the other end (17b, 18b) to a crossbar (20) by two hinge devices (21, 22). An extension device (100) is provided which allows adjustment of the length of a frame member. The length of strut (18) is adjustable in the preferred embodiment. Extending or shortening of the frame member varies the angle( a ) of the links (15, 16). This results in a change in the resilience of the perambulator and hence, improved comfort for the occupant. An embodiment of the extension device (100) is described and its features are defined in appendant claims. |
