PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a end tab for welding being superior in fire resistance, impact resistance, and having good properties in bending strength, release, and formation of weld bead and a manufacturing method therefor. SOLUTION: The chemical composition of the end tab consists of, by weight %, 30-56% SiO2, 40-66% Al2O3 (where, the sum of SiO2 and Al2O3 is within 96%), 2-4% MgO, and <=1% each Fe2O3, K2O, CaO, TiO2, ZnO, and the crystal phase of the end tab mainly consists of cordierite (2MgO/2Al2O3/5SiO2) and alumina (Al2O3), and the balance mullite (3Al2O3/2SiO2). Raw material powder with the chemical composition adjusted as above is prepared, formed into the shape of the end tab and thereafter is calcined. |
