PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a paper feeding mechanism having good assemblage, having a little variation as a product and capable of being stably manufactured. SOLUTION: When a carriage 13 is moved to the side surface 111 in the carriage moving direction A in a state where it is engaged with a protrusion 211a, a worm 21 is rotated around a worm shaft in a specified rotational direction. When the worm 21 is not operated the protrusion 211a is positioned in a specified position. A worm wheel 25 coaxially arranged with a roller shaft 170 of a paper feeding roller 17 is rotated in the same direction as the forward rotation of the paper feeding roller 17 when the worm 21 is rotated in a specified rotational direction. A one-way clutch 17 for connecting the paper feeding roller 17 and the worm wheel 25 prevents the paper feeding roller 17 from being rotated in the opposite direction. A reciprocating feeding transmission link is engaged with an arm of the worm 21.
