PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve spinning performance, shear resistance, and repulsive elasticity and prevent flyer in a shot from the rough by setting Young's modulus, rigidity and the ration of them of the cover of a golf ball at specific values, respectively. SOLUTION: In the cover covering the core of a golf ball, the rigidity G is set at 3-100 MPa and Young's modulus 9-400 MPa. And the ratio of Young's modulus to rigidity G, namely E/G is set at 2.4-3.0. At that time, it is preferable for Young's modulus E to set the lower limit above about 20 MPa, and the upper limit below about 300 MPa. Also, it is preferable for rigidity G to set the lower limit above about 20 MPa, and the upper limit below about 90 MPa. As for the E/G value to set the lower limit above about 2.7. Thereby a too soft and too hard cover can be avoided and it is possible to prevent reduction of repulsion performance and cut resistance, aggravation of ball hitting feeling, and reduction of spinning tendency. Also a shot preventing flyer from the rough is possible.
|
