PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject binder including type charge transport liquid crystal material capable of manifesting an effect of a binder while retaining properties of liquid crystal material, useful for driving path such as an image displaying device, photoconductor, spatial light modulator, etc., by including a liquid crystal material and a binder to substantially retain the properties of the abovementioned liquid crystal material. SOLUTION: This binder including type charge transport liquid crystal material includes (A) a liquid crystal material such as 2-(4'-pentyloxyphenyl)-6-decyl- oxynaphthalene, etc., and (B) preferably, >=20 wt.% of a binder selected from polystyrene, polynaphthalene, polyester based resin, etc., to retain the properties of the abov liquid crystal material preferably the charge transport properties of a smectic liquid crystal phase substantially. The material preferably comprises both compatible component A and B compatibilizing each other. The preferable charge mobility of this material is 10-5-1 cm2/Vs. |
