PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the persistence of the heat insulating performance and the sound insulation performance in the double glazing manufactured by arranging two sheets of plate glass opposedly to each other through a spacer arranged on peripheral edges of the plate glass, and hermetically sealing the peripheral edges of two sheets of plate glass by an adhesive seal material to integrate the plate glass, by forming gas-impermeable barrier layer on a seal part between the spacer and a glass surface, or a seal part between the plate glass and the plate glass. SOLUTION: In the double glazing having a hollow layer formed by arranging two sheets of plate glass 1, 1 opposedly to each other, adhering periphery parts through spacer 2, and sealing end parts, the hollow layer includes the air as it is, or predetermined gas substituted for the air is injected into the hollow layer. By providing a gas-impermeable barrier layer 6 in a seal part on the circumference of the glass of the double glazing, the water contained-air can be prevented from intruding into the hollow layer from the exterior, the gas substituted for the air, in the hollow layer can be prevented from being leaked, and the persistence of the heat insulating performance and the sound insulation performance of the double glazing can be remarkably improved. |
