PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a level gage and a verticality gage 2 for accurately and simply setting and measuring a horizontal level and a vertical level in a vertical wall surface, a flat surface, etc. SOLUTION: An object in the shape of a disk, polygon, or another which can be freely rotated to the light and left in pendulum form is used for pendulum motion, the vertical direction is set from its stationary location, and the horizontal direction at right angles with the vertical direction is set. For applying this principle and speedily setting a vertical level and a horizontal level, a vertical plate 1 with a pendulum for setting a vertical direction and a horizontal plate 20 which intersects the vertical plate 1 at right angles are combined and used.
