PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain network management device and method capable of easily changing an HTML document, its template or the like by preventing the increment of traffic between devices and the increment of load in each device and eliminating the necessity of managing the constitution of a set format object existing in a set page. SOLUTION: At the time of receiving a CGI request from a browser in order to change the set value (MIB information) of a network device 102 by a web browser 1031, a network management program 1052 reads out the MIB information from the target device 102 and prepares an HTML document in accordance with a prescribed template. In this case, settable MIB information is integrated into the document as two data, i.e., hidden type data and settable type data. After the end of setting, the browser 1031 transmits the hidden type data and the set data to a network management program 1052. The program 1052 compares the set data with the transmitted data and sets up the data of a different value in the device 102.
