METHOD FOR REGENERATING CONTACT TIP FOR ARC WELDING AND DEVICE THEREFOR

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To maintain a guide hole for welding wire to a prescribed diameter and to execute the reuse of a contact tip for arc welding without needing the fastening of spring or the like, by applying plastic-working to the contact to for arc welding enlarging the diameter of the guide hole for welding wire caused by wearing and contracting the diameter of the guide hole for welding wire. SOLUTION: The contact tip 10 for arc welding is disposed in a space surrounded with plural split molds 30 in a regeneration device. The split molds 30 are pushed in the axial direction with a pushing mold 40 and the contact tip 10 for arc welding is pushed in the radial direction with the split molds 30 while sliding an outside surface 32 of the split molds 30 with a tapered surface 21 downward of a tapered mold 20. The diameter of the guide hole for welding wire is contracted and the contact tip 10 for arc welding can be reused. Only the portion corresponding to a current supplying part of the contact tip 10 for arc welding is pushed in the radial direction to contact the diameter of the guide hole for welding wire, and since the working energy is little, this method is desirable.
