PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a single phase brushless motor in which a high output can be obtained even during high speed rotation and a high rotation efficiency can be kept even during low speed rotation. SOLUTION: A motor drive circuit 10 utilizing the output signal from a Hall element for detecting the boundary of magnetic pole turns off conduction to an armature winding 3 for an angle (nonconduction angle α) equal to a specified ratio of the rotational period. Consequently, the conduction off ratio to the armature winding 3 can be kept constant regardless of the rotational speed of the motor. Since the ratio of conduction off time is not prolonged even during high speed rotation, a high output can be obtained and since conduction is turned off surely until the rotor magnet turns by a specified amount even during low speed rotation, such a conduction as generating a stop torque is eliminated and a high rotational efficiency can be attained. |
