PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composition useful as an admixture for a hydraulic composition capable of suppressing the material separation of water, gravel or the like and improving the operating efficiency by including a specific copolymer and a ligninsulfonic salt or its derivative in a specific proportion. SOLUTION: This composition is obtained by including (A) a copolymer prepared by polymerizing a monomer mixture containing a monomer represented by formula I (R1 and R2 are each H or methyl; m1 is 0-2; AO is a 2-3C oxyalkylene; n is 2-300; X is H or a 1-3C alkyl) [e.g. an esterified substance of methoxypolyethylene glycol with (meth)acrylic acid] and one or more kinds of monomers represented by formula II or III [R3 to R5 are each H, methyl or the like; R6 is H or methyl; M1 and Y are each H or a cation] [e.g. (meth) acrylic acid or (meth)allylsulfonic acid] and (B) a ligninsulfonic salt or its derivative in (10/90) to (90/10) weight ratio of the components A/B.
