PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject composite material capable of providing an aqueous dispersion capable of forming a coating excellent in flexibility, powder falling off resistance, etc., by loading a specific amount of a surfactant on particles of a trioctahedral type aluminum-containing zinc phillosilicate, etc. SOLUTION: This composite material is obtained by loading (B) 0.05-50 pt.wt. surfactant based on 100 pts.wt. component A on (A) a trioctahedral type aluminum-containing zinc phillosilicate having preferably 30-100 m2/g BET specific surface area, preferably 0.5-10μm volume-based media diameter (by a laser diffraction). Preferably, the component A has a composition of 5-65 mol% ZnO, 5-80 mol% SiO2 and 1-60 mol% Al2O3 based on 3 components. As the component B, an anionic surfactant, a nonionic surfactant and a cationic surfactant are preferable.
