PURPOSE: A filtering apparatus and a filtering method are provided to increase the flow rate of process by preventing the blocking of a filter module due to solid, and to improve the operating rate of the apparatus. CONSTITUTION: The filtering apparatus includes a filter case(15). The filter case is formed with an inlet tube(18) for allowing the entrance of liquid to be filtered, and an outlet tube(17) for discharging the dirty liquid containing sludge that remains after filtering. A rotator(13) connected to a driving device(14) is installed in the filter case to circulate the liquid in the filter case. A filter module(3) for filtering the solid included in the liquid is installed around the rotator. By using the shearing force of an eddy formed by the rotator, the solid attached to the filter module is forcibly removed from the filter module, and the dirty liquid highly containing the solid is separated and removed. Therefore, the blocking of the filter module is prevented. Clean liquid passed the filter module flows through a clean liquid outlet port(5).
