The head lamp uses separate reflector regions for two beam formats, enabling good characteristics for both formats. The vehicle head lamp comprises two filaments (11,12) contained within the same lamp (10), a reflector (20) and a cover glass (30). The mirror includes a first region (20c) which is exposed to the light emitted by one of the sources (11), and a second region (20r) which is not exposed to light from this first source but which is exposed to light emitted by the second source. The two regions of the reflector are separated by a vertical divider which passes close to the lamp. The two filaments and corresponding reflector regions provide separate beams with different functions for full beam and dipped headlight use.
