PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make optimizable the setting of a non-image forming area in accordance with the length in a main scanning direction and the carrying position of a photoreceptor in the main scanning direction when a recording medium is scanned in an image forming device in which the recording medium is carried to the photoreceptor after an image is formed on the photoreceptor by optical scanning, and the image is transferred and recorded to the recording medium. SOLUTION: The length Sx of a recording paper in the main scanning direction is detected, and the timing of mask signal setting the non-image-forming area (release time Tsx of mask and setting time Tex with reference of horizontal synchronizing signal) are set based on the detection result. Besides, the carrying position Px in the main scanning direction of the recording paper S with respect to the photoreceptor is detected, a deviation value Zx=Sx-Px with respect to a regular carrying position is found, a mask adjusting time Tzx in accordance with the value Zx is found, and the timing of the mask signal is corrected. |
