PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing a polarized light diffractive cholesteric liquid crystal film of which the diffracted rays themselves produce specified polarized light such as circularly polarized light or linearly polarized light. SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing a polarized light diffractive cholesteric liquid crystal film contains the first step to form a cholesteric liquid crystal film on an alignment supporting substrate, the second step to transfer a diffraction pattern of a diffraction element substrate to the surface of the cholesteric liquid crystal film and to form a region exhibiting diffractiveness on a part of the film, the third step to stick the film surface of the cholesteric liquid crystal film, on which the diffraction pattern is transferred, to a releasable substrate via an adhesive layer and subsequently to release the alignment supporting substrate from the cholesteric liquid crystal film and to transfer the diffraction pattern to the releasable substrate and the fourth step to release the releasable substrate from the cholesteric liquid crystal film. |
