PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To avoid local overheating in a tank flange and to obtain a highly reliable gas-insulated transformer. SOLUTION: A cylindrical, horizontal pressure tank 1 has flanges 4a and 4b which are provided in a separation point and can be separated into a right and left portions for connection. This tank contains a transformer which consists of windings 2 and iron cores 3, has a magnetic shield on its inside, and is filled with a high-pressure insulating gas so as to function as a gas-insulated transformer. Connection metal fittings 61, which function as bypasses for eddy currents, are provided on the outsides of flanges 4a and 4b at positions almost opposite to the top end, bottom end, and middle of the windings 2.
