PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a design support device for supporting the design of a CAD system by evaluating the environmental load of design parts designated by means of the CAD system. SOLUTION: The device is provided with a specifying means 13 for specifying the materials of the design parts requested to be processed from design information of the CAD system, an obtaining means 14 for obtaining the environmental load rate of the materials specified by the means 13 by performing access to a database 12 which manages the environmental load rate per unit quantity indicated in each material, a calculating means 15 for calculating the environmental load of the processing request design parts from the environmental load rate obtained by the means 14 and from the parts quantity of the processing request design parts and an output means 16 for outputting the environmental load calculated by the means 15.
