PURPOSE: A plasma display panel is provided to improve a light emitting efficiency with a low discharge voltage by installing a sub electrode between common/scanning electrodes. CONSTITUTION: In feeding a pulse voltage between scanning/address electrodes(24,28), a wall electric charge is charged by generating a pre-discharge between the electrodes(24,28). A holding discharge occurs by feeding an AC of 180V in common/scanning electrodes(23,24) in the charged space. In occurring the holding discharge, plasma is formed in the charged space. A radiated ultraviolet ray excites a fluorescent layer(210) to embody an image. A sub electrode(220) is installed between common/scanning electrodes(23,24) to generate the holding discharge. In feeding the voltage between common/scanning electrodes(23,24), a sub discharge is generated between the sub electrode(220) and the common electrode(23) or the scanning electrode(24). Gases in the charged space are stimulated by generating a main discharge between two electrodes(23,24). |
