PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a fluorescence device by reducing the number of parts and man-hours in the fluorescence device where fluorescence tube and circuit substrate are connected via TAB. SOLUTION: A fluorescence tube 1 and a circuit substrate 2 are connected via TAB 3. Terminals of the electrodes in the envelope are formed on one side of an anode substrate 6 of the fluorescence tube 1 by print-wiring. There is no outer lead pin. Terminal wiring 7 derived from an anode 5 of the fluorescence tube 1 are connected with circuit wiring 8 of a circuit substrate 2 via TAB 3 through connection wiring 9a and electronic parts 10. Control electrodes of the fluorescence tube 1 and other electrodes of the cathode, etc., are derived out of the envelope via terminal wiring 11, and are directly connected with circuit wiring 12 of the circuit substrate 2 not by way of the electronic parts 10 by the second connection wiring 9b of TAB 3. Since all the connections between the fluorescence tube 1 and the circuit substrate 2 are done by the TAB method, the outer lead terminals are eliminated and the number of parts decreases. The circuit substrate 2 can considerably be decreased in the width than the fluorescence tube 1.
