PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a piezoelectric sensor for detecting contact of an object and a catching preventer for detecting an object being caught at an opening/ closing part using the piezoelectric sensor in which the output from the piezoelectric sensor is increased. SOLUTION: When a piezoelectric sensor 8 is positioned oppositely to a rubber (elastic body) 9 having a hollow part 11 or a cut 33 or positioned to define a displaceable region between supporting parts, displacement of the piezoelectric sensor 8 caused by contact with an object 10 is increased and thereby strain is increased. Since generation of charges is increased, polarizing current is increased and the output can be increased.
