METHOD FOR SETTING UP POINT-TO-POINT PROTOCOL SESSION OF ASYMMETRIC DIGITAL SUBSCRIBER LINE SYSTEM USING DYNAMIC HOST CONFIGURATION PROTOCOL AND METHOD FOR CONTROLLING REGULATION OF DATA SUPPLIER THEREOF

PURPOSE: A method for setting up a point-to-point protocol(PPP) session of an asymmetric digital subscriber line(ADSL) system using a dynamic host configuration protocol(DHCP) is provided to make a PC subscriber supply a service supplier ID to a message option field of the DHCP, so that the subscriber can receive necessary data. The method is provided to make a point-to-point protocol(PPP) session close a PPP session of a set data supplier, so as to regulate the set PPP session. CONSTITUTION: An asymmetric digital subscriber line(ADSL) system designates an internet service provider(ISP) ID of a dynamic host configuration protocol(DHCP) in a subscriber PC, and supplies the ISP ID to an asymmetric digital subscriber line(ADSL) terminal unit-remote(ATU-R). The ADSL system opens a point-to-point protocol(PPP) session notifying the ID in the ATU-R, and transmits the PPP session to the subscriber PC. Information on the PPP session is stored in a determined memory. The system transmits a message for closing the PPP session to the ATU-R when a desired service is completed in the PC. The system receives the message to close the designated PPP session. The information stored in the memory is deleted.
