PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To control gain tilt and power of an output light with one optical fiber. SOLUTION: A rare-earth element doped optical fiber 1 is stimulated with first and second light sources 2 and 3, which oscillate light within an absorptive wavelength band, so as to amplify an input light. Then, the power of a part of output light is detected with a first detection means 6 via a first optical band-pass filter which passes the light of first wavelength, and the power of a part of the output light is detected with a second detection means 7 via a second optical band-pass filter which passes the light of second wavelength. Since the existence of the output difference between these detection means 6 and 7 corresponds to the existence of the gain tilt, a first control means 9 controls gain tilt by adjusting the centroidal wavelength of the first stimulation light source 2, according to the output difference. Furthermore, the second control means 10 controls the power of the output light by adjusting the output of the second stimulation source 3, according to the output from the third detection means 8, for detecting the power by receiving a part of the output light. |
