PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce cost of a device by retrieving a box, in which a value being the same as that of the F code of an operation input is registered by an F code input requesting means when a transmission operation is performed, allowing the transmission operation, only when a corresponding box is found and registering the identification information of the found box in document management information for managing a transmission job. SOLUTION: Displayed 'extended transmission' is selected, because it is necessary to input a caller information for user authentication. When a user inputs an F code, the facsimile equipment of a group 3 retrieves registered box information with a value being the same as the inputted F code as an F code. If a corresponding box is found and the retrieval is successful, the box name is read from the corresponding box, guidance is shown and confirmation is made by the user. If the user selects 'YES', the box number of the corresponding box is applied as the identification information for a transmission operation so that user authentication is successful.
