BURGLARPROOF APPARATUS FOR NOTEBOOK COMPUTERS

PURPOSE: A burglarproof apparatus for notebook computers is provided to prevent notebook computers from being stolen by raising an alarm sound when a notebook computer is moved or separated from its input/output port. CONSTITUTION: An attaching/detaching sensor(302) detects that a burglarproof apparatus is connected or disconnected with the input/output port of the notebook computer. A vibration sensor(304) detects the movement of the burglarproof apparatus and transports the detection signal to a microcomputer(306). An operation key(308) turns on the alarm function. An input key(310) is a key to inform the microcomputer(306) that a password has been inputted. A number key(312) is a key to input the digits of the password. An LED(314) is an operation display lamp to indicate that the alarm function is on. A sound source generating unit(316) generates an electrical alarm sound signal according to the control of the microcomputer(306) if vibration or separation is detected in the state that the alarm function is on. A speaker(318) converts the sound signal of the sound source generating unit(316) into an audible alarm sound. A battery(320) supplies power necessary for the burglarproof apparatus. A relay(322) is operated only in case that the alarm function is on according to the control of the microcomputer(306) and transports power to other elements except the microcomputer(306).
