PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plump hob structure, for a sounding apparatus, in which the bottom arrival of a plumb hob is detected surely by a torque sensor, in which the level of a stored powder object can be measured precisely and by which the plumb hob can be rolled up easily even when the powder object is deposited on the plumb hob. SOLUTION: A plumb hob 11 for a sounding apparatus is constituted of a plumb hob body 12. The plumb hob is constituted of a fixation member 15 which is fixed and bonded to the upper part of the plumb hob body 12. The plumb hob is constituted of four arms 13 end parts of which are turnably shaft- mounted on the fixation member. The plumb hob is constituted of blade members 14 which are attached integrally to tip parts of the respective arms. When a wire 19 is rolled down, the plumb hob 11 reached the surface of a powder object surely, and the bottom arrival of the plumb hob 11 is detected by a torque sensor. As a result, the level of the powder object can be measured precisely on the basis of the length of the wire at this time. In addition, when the wire 19 is rolled up, the arms 13 are turned downward, and the plumb hob 11 can be raised easily.
