PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the accuracy of transmission power control by attaining the transmission power control with the high accuracy at all times independently of a communication state. SOLUTION: In the case of controlling transmission power of its own station (transmission station) by using a transmission power control bit sent from an opposite station (reception station) to its own station, at least any of a transmission station transmission power change detection section 19, a control state detection section 20, a reception power change detection section 21, a transmission power control bit change detection section 22 and a reception station transmission power change detection section 23 is used to detect a communication state on the basis of an output of a base band signal processing section 17, a transmission power control bit control section 18 changes a transmission power control width corresponding to the transmission power control bit on the basis of the result of detection of any detection section. Then a variable power amplification control section 16 controls a variable power amplifier 27a on the basis of the transmission power control bit and the transmission power control width to apply variable control to the transmission power outputted from an antenna 11.
